How do you fight time? I have been celebrating my daughter’s birthday today when that question came to my mind? The easy answer is you can’t, but I think that taking on the chaos in life with predictable education is important training to fight time. What I mean by predictable education is that when our kids are young, we educate them by our example and our choices. If we fail to plan or fail to introduce them to our team of professionals (planner, lawyer, accountant) then these professions become somewhat foreign to them. But if we introduce them to our selected “board of professionals” our kids can be more at ease with exploring these areas of education.
Time can be lost if we don’t enroll our kids in the rationale behind why we choose this trusted professional versus another. As the kids get older, the information we share with them about why we are making these choices can help them be a part of the world we are building. A side effect of this sharing is that the kids can feel more empowered about their decisions as adults. These types of decisions can be anxiety producing if we keep professionals in the dark. If our kids can reach into our lives and understand the why of our decisions we can bridge the gap between generations.
In other words, we can fight time with predictable education.
